Privacy Policy

BrewStation operates entirely without mandatory accounts. You are never required to provide your name, phone number, email address, or social login credentials to dial in your coffee.

All application data—including your configured Stations (grinder and brewer pairings), bean history, extraction profiles, sensory tasting notes (sour / balanced / bitter), and dial-in offsets—is persisted directly on your local device storage.

We do not track your activity across apps or websites, and we do not participate in cross-app ad retargeting networks. We do not use the Apple Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).

When you choose to scan a specialty coffee bag, BrewStation requests permission to access your device's camera.

• Sole Purpose: Camera access is used exclusively to perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to read roaster names, bean origins, varietals, process methods, and elevation metrics printed on coffee bags.
• No Photo Storage or Harvesting: Coffee bag images captured during the scan are parsed on-device or via transient, stateless edge processing solely to return structured recipe fields. Raw photos and video streams are never stored on external servers, indexed into image databases, or shared with third parties.
• Optional Feature: Camera access is entirely optional. You can enter all bean details, roasters, processes, and extraction parameters manually without granting camera permissions.

When the application connects to our backend services, all network traffic is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (HTTPS / TLS 1.3) via api.getbrewstation.com.

Network requests are limited to:

• Fetching verified roaster catalog updates, grinder burr geometries, and brewer flow profiles.
• Validating syntax and returning canonical equipment snapping rules.
• Serving stateless coffee news and community roaster highlights.

No personal identity headers, persistent device identifiers, or user tracking tokens are transmitted to our servers during these requests.

Because your coffee data is stored locally in your device's application sandbox, you maintain absolute control over your information:

• Immediate Deletion: Removing or uninstalling the BrewStation app from your iOS device immediately and irreversibly deletes all stored stations, bean cards, and calibration histories.
• No Remote Residuals: Since we do not host user accounts or server-side databases of your personal brews, no lingering profile data remains on our infrastructure after you uninstall.

BrewStation is a specialized kitchen brewing companion and does not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal information from individuals under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union).
